WANT TO KNOW MORE?
Currently we are not hosting weekly programs for Study Buddies as we have done for more than 20 years. We have stepped aside from our mentoring and instead are taking the time to write a “how to”/history of ASB book to help others across the nation start similar programs. It’s a slow process as there is much to reflect on and write about as we look back at 20+ years of loving others and we have been loved. Through the weekly and summer ASB programs we connected with and changed the lives of over 2000 students. We continue to do occasional community outreach activities that involve some former Big Buddies as well as some of our faithful adult leaders. The work of serving our community and the world still goes on thanks to those who have already given so much.
During winter and spring of 2023 we offered weekly “Study Buddies“ programs which inspired us to share this awesome program with others. Adult women and high school ladies mentored and tutored 12 3rd-5th graders. The 2 hour program met on early release Wednesdays and involved social and emotional learning, academic skills development and community service/outreach times.
